Programmes Conducted 2024–2025

Students’ Participation

The Post Graduate students specializing in Child Development and Essentials of Nutrition conducted programmes to develop communication skills such as dramatization, storytelling, singing, and dancing through online sessions.

First Day to School

After a refreshing summer break, school reopened for the new academic year 2024–2025 on 19th June 2024. Photo booths were set up and the entire Nursery was decorated to warmly welcome the new batch of students.

Drawing & Colouring Competition

Held on 23rd October 2024, judged by Mrs. Shyla Mathew, Head Mistress, SIET Nursery and Primary School. Children created free-hand drawings and colored them with their own ideas. Prizes were awarded to the winners.

Singing Competition

Conducted on 24th October 2024, judged by Mrs. Motcha Rani, Teacher, SIET Nursery and Primary School. Children performed nursery rhymes or songs with actions of their choice.

Fancy Dress Competition

Conducted on 25th January 2025, judged by Dr. G. Lubna Banu and Dr. Shayestha Fathima H., Associate Professors from the Department of Home Science, JBAS College for Women. Children enacted eminent leaders and famous personalities. Prizes were awarded by the Chief Guest to winners and participants.

National Days

Children celebrated Republic Day and Independence Day with themed activities to understand the importance of these events.

Regional Festivals

Festivals such as Pongal, Ramzan, Diwali, and Christmas were celebrated. Children learned their significance and participated in themed activities.

Exploring Nature

A planting activity was conducted where children dug soil, planted seeds, and watered them. This hands-on activity helped them connect with nature and understand the importance of plants. The day was filled with learning, fun, and memorable moments.

Seasonal Day Celebrations

Celebrated monthly with classrooms transformed to represent Summer, Monsoon, Winter, and Spring. Children came in seasonal attire and enjoyed storytelling, role play, songs, and art activities. They learned about weather patterns, seasonal foods, clothing, and the environment in a joyful way.

Project Day

Teachers and students collaborated on project work to encourage critical thinking and analysis. Dr. Sajitha Qadir, Staff in charge of SIET Nursery School, judged the event. Prizes were given to winners and participants.

Sports Day

Celebrated on 13th November 2024. Students showcased their spirit of competition, celebrating both wins and defeats with good sportsmanship. Mrs. Shyla Mathew, Head Mistress, SIET Nursery School was the Chief Guest.

Excursion

Students visited Children’s Park, Guindy to explore animals, birds, and reptiles in their natural habitat. This fun-filled trip created joyful memories and enriched teacher-student bonding.

Cultural Extravaganza

Held on 28th February 2025 in the college auditorium, with Dr. V. Anuradha, Head of Department of Zoology, JBAS College for Women as the Chief Guest. All children participated, showcasing their vibrant talents and enthusiasm.

Graduation Day

Celebrated on 14th March 2025. This milestone event bid farewell to nursery graduates as they moved on to the next stage of learning. Dr. Nazeema Banu, Head of Department of Tamil, was the Chief Guest.
